FAQs
WHAT'S THE DAMAGE? ![]() Generally speaking, damage to wooden floors is little more than surface scuffs and dirty marks, and for these our general wooden floor sanding service should be enough to expose clean and fresh timber, which can then be stained as a brand new floor might be. In some instances, greater degrees of damage might require special attention; this could mean chips or cracks that need filling with resin, larger splintering where slivers of fresh timber must be glued into place, or in the worst cases, the need to replace entire floorboards or the supporting sub-structure of the floor.
Whatever the damage, we will quote you a price at your initial consultation, and will stick to that price so
you do not face any increase in cost.
SO WHAT IS DAMAGE?![]() Figuratively speaking, the cost of our services depends on how extensive the repair work is. We hope that this together helps to overcome any doubts you might have about us not being able to quote a price without having first looked at your floor; we take as much of the risk as we can, in order that we can offer a first-rate service, always at a competitive price.
WHAT'S THE DELAY?
Deeper damage takes longer to repair, and this is likely to be the main impact on the duration of your
project,
particularly if large portions of the timber used in your floor are beyond reasonable repair and need to be
replaced with fresh wood.
Generally though, our services RG25 are specifically designed to avoid you having to face the cost of
buying fresh timber for your floor, and we will work wherever it is reasonable to do so to ensure that as
much of your original floor as possible is retained and restored to its best.
If this is likely to take longer, due to spot repairs or more in-depth sanding before fresh timber is reached, we will always let you know as soon as possible, so you can work with us on reaching a decision about whether or not you are happy to proceed with the likely schedule for the work. Finally, remember that any finishing treatment applied to your floor must be given plenty of time to dry before you allow anyone to walk on it; environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and even the outside weather can cause drying times to vary, so we cannot guarantee exactly how long this part of the process will take.
AM I PROTECTED?![]() Our insurance cover totals £5 million of protection, giving peace of mind to all of our customers that no nasty surprises will lead to us shutting up shop halfway through a project and disappearing into the RG21 Hampshire sunset.
We would never do this anyway, of course, but we hope the fact that we have taken the necessary
precautions comes as a form of reassurance for our customers old and new, and helps us to stand
tall as a reliable option in the face of our local competition.
